The High Court has concluded the hearing on the rule issued regarding the legality of the ongoing process of an agreement between the Chattogram Port Authority and a foreign company to operate the New Mooring Container Terminal (NCT) of Chattogram Port.

On Tuesday, 25 November, Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Fatema Anwar of the High Court bench fixed 4 December for delivering the verdict after the hearing.

Following the primary hearing on the writ petition challenging the legality of handing over the New Mooring Container Terminal to a foreign entity, the High Court issued a rule on 30 July. In continuation of that, the petitioner submitted a supplementary application seeking a status quo on the process concerning the agreement between the Chattogram Port Authority and DP World of the United Arab Emirates for operating the NCT. The hearings on both applications concluded today.
