Vessel carrying 27,000 tonnes of diesel from Singapore arrive at Ctg port
A Hong Kong-flagged vessel carrying 27,000 tonnes of diesel from Singapore arrived at the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port early Friday (April 3), boosting the country’s fuel supply.
Port officials said another vessel carrying 34,000 tonnes of diesel from Malaysia is scheduled to arrive later in the day, bringing the total volume to 61,000 tonnes within a single day.
The first vessel, YAN JING HE, is currently awaiting berthing at the Dolphin Jetty, with unloading expected to begin soon after docking.
Authorities confirmed that the ship is being given priority berthing to expedite fuel discharge.
Officials added that a second vessel, SHAN GANG FA ZHAN, will also anchor with fuel cargo, while an LNG carrier is expected to arrive on Saturday.
Port authorities said steps are being taken to ensure swift unloading to meet the country’s growing energy demand.
