Veteran journalist Badal Ahmed passes away
Badal Ahmed, a respected member of the Bangladesh Cholochitra Sangbadik Samity (BACHSAS) and a veteran journalist, has passed away. He died early on Monday morning around 7:00 AM following cardiac arrest.
With a long-standing career in journalism, Badal Ahmed contributed significantly to the media landscape of Bangladesh. He worked for many years at the weekly Protichitro magazine and served as the news editor at Bijoy Television. At the time of his passing, he was serving as a special correspondent at the daily Amar Barta.
The BACHSAS family has expressed deep grief over his untimely demise. In a joint condolence message, BACHSAS President Kamrul Hasan Darpan and General Secretary Rahat Saiful prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed heartfelt sympathy to his bereaved family.
“Badal Ahmed's janaza will be held today after Asr prayers at Golapbagh in the capital,” said Rahat Saiful. “He will be laid to rest following the funeral prayers.”
Badal Ahmed served BACHSAS in various capacities over the years, most recently as Vice President. He had also taken on the responsibilities of Acting President during his tenure with the organization.
His passing marks a profound loss for the journalistic community of Bangladesh.
