Views Bangladesh writers' congregation: Authors and readers highly praise Eid magazine
Bilingual online news platform, Views Bangladesh, organized the 'Eid Magazine Writers' Congregation 2026', featuring prominent authors, poets, novelists, and columnists from across the nation. This open forum and gathering of writers took place at the Views Bangladesh office in Karwan Bazar on Saturday afternoon, May 9.
During the event, both writers and readers expressed their admiration for the Eid magazine and extended their best wishes for the success of Views Bangladesh. The gathering was moderated by poet Saikat Habib, the Consulting Editor of the Views Bangladesh Eid magazine, while Rased Mehedi, the Editor of Views Bangladesh, provided the welcome address.
Rased Mehedi expressed gratitude to all attendees, stating, "This initiative has been made possible through the collective support and affection of everyone. With your continued support, our journey will persist into the future. From the outset, Views Bangladesh has endeavored to progress with diverse and high-quality work. I am optimistic that, with everyone's collaboration, Views Bangladesh will continue to produce commendable work in the future."
The open discussion featured contributions from essayist Morshed Shafiul Hasan, poet Anjir Liton, writer Akhtar Hussain, novelist and translator Nuruddin Jahangir, novelist and Editor of the daily Khaborer Kagoj Mostofa Kamal, poet Tokon Thakur, story writer Ahsan Habib, poet and journalist Jewel Mazhar, novelist Hameem Kamrul Haque, novelist Swakrito Noman, novelist and former diplomat Mujtoba Ahmed Murshed, novelist and editor of the daily Agamir Shomoy Mostafa Mamun, poet Zillur Rahman, poet Shahed Kayes, story writers Masood Ahmad, Dina Afroz, story writers Zayed Farid, poet Rokeya Islam, poet Tushar Das, poet and translator Rudra Arif, poet and story writer Chandan Chowdhury, essayist Hasan Iqbal, film critic Bidhan Rebeiro, essayist Akhil Poddar, novelist Abu Taher Sarfaraz, novelist Noor Kamrun Nahar, poet Parvez Babul, translator and storyteller Kabir Chand, translator and novelist Dilwar Hasan, novelist and researcher Anis Rahman, writer Anaryo Naeem, Md. Mizanur Chowdhury, journalist Rita Nahar, essayist Akhtar Prasad Barua, Nasir Uddin Chishti, poet Alomgir Khan poet and journalist Shimul Salahuddin, poet Dipankar Marduk, poet Farhad Naiya, poet Nafiul Haque, poet and littlemag editor Drishti Nut, among others.
Also present at the time were Maria Salam, news editor of View Bangladesh, Chief Reporter Hira Talukder, DGM Tasnuva Purba, Shimul Zabali, one of the members of the editorial board of Eid magazine, and other officers and staff of the organization.
In the open discussion, writer and researcher Morshed Shafiul Hasan commended Eid magazine and expressed that Views Bangladesh should consistently release literary magazines in addition to Eid magazine, including editions focused on stories, poetry, articles, and more.
Mostafa Kamal, the editor of Daily Khaborer Kagoj, remarked, "I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Views Bangladesh for producing such a remarkable issue in such a brief period."
Editor and writer of daily Agamir Somoy, Mostafa Mamun, said that newspapers should pay more attention to the practice of art, literature and culture.
Writer Akhtar Hussain, referencing Kolkata's Desh Patrika, stated, "The Eid magazine from Views Bangladesh has fostered a remarkable atmosphere." He recommended that Views Bangladesh consider publishing a monthly or bimonthly magazine on a regular basis.
Fiction writer and translator Nuruddin Jahangir lauded the incorporation of Arabic literature and translations in the Eid edition. He noted, "Arabic literature is incredibly rich. I was astonished after reading it. Since then, I have been endeavoring to translate the works of Tayyib Saleh. When I find myself unable to write, I concentrate on translation."
Poet and fiction writer Mujtoba Ahmed Murshed asserted that Views Bangladesh must progress. "We stand with you."
Fiction writer and researcher Anis Rahman emphasized that literary endeavors must advance by addressing the challenges surrounding the magazine's publication.
Translator Dilwar Hasan remarked that as an online magazine, Views Bangladesh has genuinely produced a high-quality and substantial Eid issue.
Poet Zillur Rahman shared that after perusing this Eid issue, he has rediscovered the authentic taste and joy associated with Eid editions.
Poet Jewel Mazhar commented that the selection of writings in Views Bangladesh's Eid issue has left a significant impression of artistic quality. He suggested that issues centered on various themes could also be published alongside Eid editions.
Essayist Akhil Poddar expressed, "I was captivated by the cover. I hope such initiatives will persist. Literary events at the office of Views Bangladesh have introduced a new dimension."
Poet Tushar Das conveyed optimism that such high-quality Eid issues will continue to be produced in the future.
Storyteller and translator Kabir Chand said that Views Bangladesh's Eid issue is the best in terms of diversity and quality of content.
Fiction writer Hameem Kamrul Haque commented that the Eid issue has a collection of readable writing.
Poet Tokon Thakur praised the binding and printing of the issue.
Film writer and critic Bidhan Rebeiro said, "I have been with Views Bangladesh since the beginning of its journey. So far, I have collected 12 Eid issues. Out of these, I particularly liked two issues. Views Bangladesh will always be at the top in terms of quality."
Eid edition Consulting editor poet Saikat Habib said, "Our path was difficult, but we succeeded as a result of everyone's sincerity and hard work." He expressed his gratitude to all the writers and poets at this time.
Maria Salam, news editor of Views Bangladesh, said, "This issue is the fruit of the hard work and dedication of every employee of Views Bangladesh. Team effort and collective work have made it possible to publish such a rich magazine."
After the discussion, the present literary figures cut the cake.
