Viral singer Laili Begum gets Tk3lakh reward

Viral singer Laili Begum ("Laili Khala") received a Tk 3 lakh reward from Cultural Affairs Ministry.

Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury handed over the grant check to her at a function at the Secretariat on Wednesday (June 17) morning.

At the function, the Cultural Affairs Minister said that Laili Begum's singing talent, which emerged from the soil without formal training, is attracting attention on social media. The decision to grant this reward has been taken to recognize that talent.

He also said that initiatives are being taken to associate Laili Begum with the activities of Faridpur Shilpakala Academy.

The Cultural Affairs Minister also mentioned that folk music and Bauldhara artists are an important part of the country's cultural heritage.

Meanwhile, Laili Begum said that receiving such respect and support from the government is a great achievement for her.

She expressed her gratitude and said that this grant will further inspire her in her musical practice.
