Voting has begun for the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Executive Committee election for 2025, with balloting start at 9:00am on Sunday at the Shafiqul Kabir Auditorium and will continue until 5:00pm.

Professional journalists working in Dhaka are casting their votes to elect leadership for the coming term.

For the vice-president post, Halim Mohammad and Mehdi Azad Masum are competing, while three candidates—Mainul Hasan Sohel, Mahmudul Hasan, and Moinul Ahsan—are running for general secretary.

Md Manowar Hossain has also been elected unopposed as cultural affairs secretary, and Rafiq Mridha as welfare secretary.

For women’s affairs secretary, Jannatul Ferdous Panna and Nargis Jui are the two contenders. Delwar Hossain Mohin and Mahmud Sohel are contesting for IT and training secretary, while Omar Faruk Rubel and Maksuda Lisa are competing for sports secretary. The hospitality secretary post features a contest between Aminul Haque Bhuiyan and Md Selim Ullah (SU Selim).
