Voting underway for JnUCSU elections

The Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUCSU) elections are being held for the first time after almost two decades of the university's establishment.
Voting for the Jagannath University Central Students' Union (JnUCSU) elections began at Jagannath University (JnU) from 9 am on Tuesday (January 6). The voting is underway at 178 booths in 39 centers in five buildings of the university, which will continue until 3 pm.
In this election, there are a total of 157 candidates against 23 posts of the central council. The number of voters is 16,445. Four panels - Chhatra Dal and Chhatra Odhikar Parishad, Chhatra Shibir, leftist parties and National Chhatra Shakti - are contesting in the election.
The university administration has made all the necessary preparations for the elections. In addition to law enforcement officers, the university's own management has also been strengthened to ensure smooth voting.
Earlier, the polling date for the elections was postponed three times for various reasons. Finally, the much-anticipated elections are being held today in a changed political and social context.
Classes and examinations in all institutes and departments of the university have been closed today due to the voting.
