VP candidate Abidul breaches code of conduct entering polling station
Since the beginning of the Dhaka University Central Student Union elections, Abidul Islam Khan, the vice-president (VP) candidate of the Chhatra Dal-backed panel, has been accused of violating the code of conduct.
He broke the rules and entered the polling station set up at the Physical Education Center of Dhaka University around 8:30 am on Tuesday. Students of Jagannath Hall are voting at this center.
At this time, Abidul's supporters and activists were also seen outside the center soliciting votes and distributing leaflets. Some voters present expressed their annoyance in this regard.
Returning officer in charge of the polling station, Kazi Mostaq Gausul Haque, said: "Candidates have no opportunity to enter the polling station. I was at Zahurul Haque's center. I don't know about this. I am looking into it."
However, regarding the allegations of entering the polling station set up at the Physical Education Center of Dhaka University, Abidul Islam Khan said: "I entered with the permission of the returning officer."
At that time, he complained that the university did not issue any cards for candidates. That is why he is not being allowed to enter the polling station in the girls' hall.
