The Administrator of the Bangladesh Waqf, Safiz Uddin Ahmed, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday morning (May 7). The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat, according to the Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary Atiqur Rahman Rumon. He said that during the meeting, discussions were held on various issues related to Waqf administration and its activities in the country. Senior officials including Religious Affairs Minister Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaykobad, Member of Parliament Shamim Kaisar Lincoln, and Religious Affairs Secretary Munsi Alauddin Al Azad were present at the meeting. Further details of the discussion were not immediately disclosed.

প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমানের সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেছেন বাংলাদেশ ওয়াকফ এর প্রশাসক সাফিজ উদ্দিন আহমেদ। বৃহস্পতিবার (৭ মে) সকালে বাংলাদেশ সচিবালয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দপ্তরে এই বৈঠক অনুষ্ঠিত হয় বলে জানান প্রধানমন্ত্রীর অতিরিক্ত প্রেস সচিব আতিকুর রহমান রুমন। তিনি আরও জানান, বাংলাদেশ ওয়াকফের প্রশাসক সাফিজ উদ্দিন আহমেদ আজ প্রধানমন্ত্রী তারেক রহমানের সঙ্গে দেখা করেছেন। এ সময় তারা ওয়াকফ সংক্রান্ত বিভিন্ন বিষয় নিয়ে কথা বলেন। এ সময় ধর্মমন্ত্রী শাহ মোফাজ্জাল হোসাইন কায়কোবাদ, সংসদ সদস্য শামীম কায়সার লিংকন এবং ধর্ম সচিব মুন্সি আলাউদ্দিন আল আজাদ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
