Warning signal number 3 in seaports
The low pressure located in the Bay of Bengal has concentrated and is located in the area of Bangladesh and West Bengal in the form of a clear low pressure.
Due to this, the Bay of Bengal adjacent to Kuakata in Patuakhali has become stormy. In this situation, warning signal No. 3 has been asked to be displayed at the country’s seaports, said special notice of Bangladesh Meteorological Department issued on Saturday (September 14) morning.
According to the notice, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports have been asked to show local warning signal number three. Also, the fishing boats and trawlers stationed in North Bay of Bengal have been asked to remain in safe shelter till further instructions.
Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds temporarily. Along with this, moderate to very heavy rainfall may occur in some parts of the country. Day temperature may increase slightly and night temperature may decrease slightly across the country.
The land low pressure located in Barishal and adjoining areas moved slightly north-westwards and was located in Jashore and adjoining areas at 6:00 am today (Saturday). It may move further northwest. Due to its influence, deep convective clouds continue to form over the North Bay of Bengal and the coastal areas of Bangladesh. Gusty winds may blow over coastal areas of Bangladesh, North Bay of Bengal and sea ports, said the special notice.
