Water vessel services resume across country after 14hrs

All types of water vessel services resumed across the country after being closed for 14 hours due to dense fog.

The traffic resumed from 7am on Monday as passengers were in trouble. Many were waiting to leave the launch at the pier.

Babu Lal Vaidya, Deputy Director (Naval Safety) of BIWTA Chandpur, said that passenger launches and boat traffic on all waterways across the country, including Sadarghat in the capital, have been temporarily suspended from 5:30 pm on Sunday. BIWTA issued this instruction.

He said, "This decision was taken based on the warning from the Meteorological Department in contact with them. This measure is to avoid the risk of accidents on waterways due to dense fog."
