We have started working to establish the Bangladesh of the aspirations of the martyrs: Tarique Rahman in the memorial's visit book
New Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman paid tribute to the martyrs of the great liberation war at the National Memorial. After paying floral tributes to the great martyrs at the memorial at 11 am on Wednesday, February 18, he signed the memorial's visit book.
In the visit book, he wrote today's date 18-2-2026 in Bengali instead of the date. In the title, he wrote, Honorable Prime Minister, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
In the comments section, the Prime Minister wrote, 'After the exploitation of the fascist regime, the people of the country have started a new journey on the path of democracy by being elected directly by the people who love democracy through a free and fair election. Alhamdulillah. I thank Allah.'
She also wrote, 'I and we believe that the desire of the martyrs was to establish a safe, humane, democratic, independent, sovereign Bangladesh. We have started working to establish the Bangladesh of the martyrs' aspirations. May Allah grant us the success in implementing every program announced before our people. I once again seek forgiveness from Allah for all the martyrs.'
The newly elected cabinet members were present at the time.
