BNP-nominated candidate for Dhaka-6, Engineer Ishraque Hossain, said on Thursday (February 12) that he would accept the outcome of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, whatever it may be.

Speaking to reporters after casting his vote at Kamrunnesa Government Girls’ High School polling centre in the capital's Tejgaon, Ishraque described the voting environment as “good so far” and said voter turnout had been satisfactory.

“People in Old Dhaka tend to wake up a little late, so we expect turnout to increase as the day progresses,” he added, expressing full confidence in victory. “Ultimately, the people’s mandate is final, and we will accept the results.”

Ishraque also alleged that some Jamaat supporters had attempted irregularities and cash distribution since Wednesday night. “They have realised they might lose, so they are trying to buy votes,” he claimed.

Dhaka-6 constituency comprises Wards 34, 37–46 of Dhaka South City Corporation, with a total of 292,283 registered voters, including 1,52,519 men, 1,39,761 women, and three third-gender voters.

The seat is contested by BNP’s 'Dhaner Shish' symbol alongside Jamaat’s Mohammad Abdul Mannan (Daripalla), NAP’s Amir Uddin Ahmed (Dalu), Gono Front’s Ahmed Ali Sheikh, Bangladesh Muslim League’s Mohammad Aktar Hossain, Bangladesh Congress’s Yunus Ali Akand, and Gono Odhikar Parishad’s Mohammad Fakhrul Islam.
