Police recovered the body of Suravi Akter Mahfuza, 21, from a rented flat in Shahjahanpur, Dhaka. She was a garment worker by profession. Her alleged husband, Azizur Rahman, has been on the run since the incident.
The body was recovered on Monday, November 3, at around 9:00 pm from a ground-floor flat at 439/A, Bakshibagh, Shahjahanpur. Following legal procedures, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy later that night.

SI Md. Mohsin Talukdar of Shahjahanpur police station said, “We recovered the body from the flat in a plastic bag after receiving the information. It was later sent to Dhaka Medical College for autopsy.”
He added, “Interrogation of locals revealed that the couple had rented the flat on November 1 and frequently quarreled. It is suspected that family disputes may have led to this killing. Azizur Rahman has been absconding since the incident.”
