After the long Eid-ul-Fitr break, working people have started returning to the bustling capital. From early Monday morning, March 23, crowds of Dhaka-bound people were seen at the city's main entry points. However, travellers found the return journey relatively comfortable compared to the usual rush and traffic congestion.

Officials said that due to the extended Eid holidays, people are returning in phases. As a result, the presence at Kamalapur Railway Station and Sadarghat Launch Terminal was orderly, with passengers able to reach their destinations without major disruptions.

From Sunday afternoon, a lively presence of passengers was observed at Kamalapur Station as trains arrived. The 'Upakul Express' from Noakhali arrived in Dhaka in the afternoon carrying nearly a thousand passengers.

Hafiz Rahman, a passenger on the train, said he returned to Dhaka after celebrating Eid with his family as offices reopen Monday. He said he always prefers train travel as it is much smoother compared to buses. Shahjalal, another passenger on the same train, said he had gone to his village a week earlier and was now returning to his workplace out of livelihood necessity.

At Sadarghat Launch Terminal, the influx of launches from the southern region increased from early morning. Passengers expressed happiness at being able to spend quality time with loved ones during the extended holiday.

Meanwhile, on the third day of Eid, the journey of homebound people continues. After celebrating Eid in Dhaka with their families, many are now heading to villages to visit relatives, choosing to travel after the main Eid rush to avoid crowds and hassles.
