World Autism Day today

Staff Reporter

The day is being celebrated through various programmes to increase social awareness about autism, establish the rights of people with autism, and achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by advancing neurodiversity.

The main goal of the day is to increase awareness among people about autism spectrum disorders and build an inclusive society for children and adults with autism.

On this occasion, various government ministries and social organizations, including the Ministry of Social Welfare, have organized various awareness programs. These initiatives are not only raising awareness among people, but also providing opportunities for children to socialize and gain new experiences.

The United Nations General Assembly declared April 2 as ‘World Autism Awareness Day’ in 2007 to highlight the importance of improving the quality of life of children and adults with autism. Since then, the day has been celebrated every year.
