Writ filed seeking cancellation of Hannan Masud's MP status over affidavit concealment

A writ petition has been filed with the High Court seeking the cancellation of the parliamentary membership of National Citizen Party MP Abdul Hannan Masud of Noakhali-6 constituency over allegations of concealing information in his affidavit.

The writ was filed on Wednesday, August 19, by Nazmul Hossain, a local resident of Hatiya upazila in Noakhali.

The petition is expected to be heard by the High Court bench of Justice Razik Al Jalil and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury, according to the petitioner's lawyer.

The writ seeks a directive to declare Hannan Masud's parliamentary seat vacant and instruct the government, through the Secretary of the Ministry of Law, to take necessary and immediate action.
