Writ filed seeking postponement of 50th BCS preliminary exam
A writ petition has been filed with the High Court (HC) seeking a directive to postpone the 50th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary examination during the election period.
Advocate Nazmus Sakib, the petitioner’s lawyer, confirmed the matter on Wednesday (January 28), stating that the writ was filed on behalf of the examinees.
The petition requests reconsideration of the exam schedule, citing concerns over candidates’ movement, security, and the overall situation amid the national election.
According to the Public Service Commission (PSC), the 50th BCS preliminary examination is scheduled to be held on January 30 from 10:00am to 12:00pm simultaneously in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur, and Mymensingh.
Details regarding examination halls, seating arrangements, and necessary instructions will be published in due course on the PSC and Teletalk Bangladesh Limited websites.
The PSC issued the circular for the 50th BCS on November 26 last year. Online applications opened on December 4 and closed on December 31.
