The High Court has issued a rule against LabAid Specialized Hospital for improper treatment, following the loss of both kidneys of Yusuf Majumdar alias Shakil.

The court has directed an investigation into the allegations of this medical negligence, ordering a report to be submitted within two months. Additionally, the court has instructed the Health Department's director general to enforce this directive.

Justice M. Kamrul Kader and Justice Khizir Hayat of the High Court bench issued the rule on Sunday.

Earlier, Major General Dr. H. R. Harun, a consultant urological surgeon at LabAid Specialized Hospital, conducted the operation.

Shakil then filed a petition in the High Court seeking compensation of one crore taka for wrong treatment.

According to the petition, despite spending approximately six lakh twenty thousand taka for treatment, both kidneys of Shakil were damaged due to the doctor's medical negligence.

Lawyer Eklas Uddin Bhuiya representing the petitioner mentioned in the petition that the patient's life is at risk, and immediate replacement of both kidneys is necessary.

This ruling comes as a significant development, shedding light on the alleged medical malpractice at LabAid Specialized Hospital and emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation into the matter.
