Zaima Rahman pays respect to Khaleda Zia’s grave

Zaima Rahman, granddaughter of the late BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, along with several family members, paid respects at her grave at Zia Udyan on Friday morning (January 2).

Zaima Rahman arrived around 10:30am with nearly 20 relatives and participated in a prolonged prayer session. The family left the site at 10:40am.

Among those present were Khaleda Zia’s younger son Arafat Rahman Coco’s wife, Syeda Sharmila Rahman, and other close relatives.

Khaleda Zia was buried with full state honours on December 31 next to her husband, the late President Ziaur Rahman, in a ceremony attended by her son Tarique Rahman and other family members. The armed forces provided a ceremonial guard of honour.

Her historic funeral prayer had earlier been held at the South Plaza of the National Parliament and along Manik Mia Avenue, drawing wide public attention.
