Zaima Rahman receives posthumous award for Khaleda Zia

Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia was honoured posthumously with the ‘Best Indomitable Woman’ award for her contributions to women’s education and the advancement of democracy.

President Mphammed Shabuddin presented the award at a ceremony held at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in Dhaka on the occasion of International Women’s Day on Sunday (March 8).

Barrister Zaima Rahman received the award, on behalf of Khaleda Zia.

The recognition celebrates Khaleda Zia’s unwavering leadership in restoring democracy through persistent struggle and her remarkable contribution to strengthening democratic values.

As in previous years, this year’s awards were also presented in five categories to outstanding women: Nurun Nahar Akhter (economic sector), Mosa Babita Khatun (education and employment sector), Nurbanu Kabiri (Successful Mother Woman), Shamla Begum (Woman who has overcome the nightmare of torture and won the struggle for life), and Afroza Yasmin ( outstanding contributions to social development).
