Zakir Hossain appointed new proctor of Jahangirnagar University

Professor Dr A.K.M. Rashidul Alam of the Department of Environmental Sciences has been relieved of his duties as proctor of Jahangirnagar University. Professor Dr Md Zakir Hossain of the Department of Philosophy has been appointed as the new proctor on an interim basis.

This information was conveyed in an office order signed by the university's Acting Registrar Dr A.B.M. Azizur Rahman on Wednesday (July 29).

The order stated that Professor Dr A.K.M. Rashidul Alam had been relieved of his proctorial duties following the acceptance of his resignation.

The same order appointed Professor Dr Md Zakir Hossain as the temporary proctor of the university from the afternoon of July 29 until further notice.

The newly appointed proctor will perform his duties in accordance with the prevailing rules and will be entitled to the benefits of the position. The outgoing and incoming proctors have been directed to hand over and take over the responsibilities in due time and submit the relevant documents to the Registrar's office.
