Zubaida Rahman meets Melania Trump at New York event

Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, met US First Lady Melania Trump at an event in New York on Tuesday (September 22), held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The meeting took place at The St. Regis New York in Manhattan after Zubaida Rahman attended the event at Melania Trump’s invitation, alongside first spouses and representatives from several countries.

Hosted by the White House, the event brought together participants under Melania Trump’s “Fostering the Future Together” initiative, a global coalition focused on empowering children through education and technology.

Discussions at the event focused on children’s education, digital literacy, artificial intelligence and online safety, with emphasis on strengthening international cooperation and public-private partnerships to expand opportunities for children.

Zubaida Rahman had earlier attended the initiative’s inaugural global coalition summit in Washington in March at Melania Trump’s invitation.

The two-day summit brought together first spouses and representatives from 45 countries and focused on EdTech, AI in education, online safety and digital literacy.
