Allocation for judiciary, including Supreme Court, increases
In the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2024-2025, allocations have increased for the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Law and Justice. A proposal of 2022 crore taka has been allocated for the Ministry of Law and Justice, while the allocation for the Supreme Court has also increased.
This time, an allocation of 248 crore taka has been made for the country's highest court. In total, an allocation of 2,270 crore taka has been made for the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Law and Justice. Compared to the previous fiscal year, the allocation for the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Law and Justice has increased by 79 crore taka this time.
In the fiscal year 2023-2024, the primary allocation for the Ministry of Law and Justice was 1943 crore taka. However, in the revised budget, it was reduced to 1717 crore taka. For the same fiscal year, although a proposal of 237 crore taka was made for the Supreme Court, it was reduced to 236 crore taka in the revised budget. In the current fiscal year, the allocation for the Supreme Court has increased by 11 crore taka. Compared to the primary allocation in the budget, there has been an increase of 79 crore taka in the current fiscal year's allocation.
