Awami League leader attends father's janaza in handcuffs
Mohammad Shahadat Nabi, a leader of the banned Awami League and an executive committee member of the Chattogram's Chandanaish Upazila Awami League, attended his father's funeral prayers (janaza) in handcuffs after being released from prison on parole. Police noted that he was previously the relief subcommittee secretary of the Awami League's central committee.

Youth tied to electric pole, beaten with pipe, hands burned with acid in Satkhira
A mentally unstable youth was allegedly tied to an electric post, beaten, and had an acid-like substance sprayed on his hands in Kolaroa upazila of Satkhira. The severely injured victim, 38-year-old Golam Rasul Sheikh, was initially admitted to the Kolaroa Upazila Health Complex and later transferred to Satkhira Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
BB Mandates At Least 4 Percent Credit Distribution in Agriculture
The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has raised the agricultural credit disbursement target for the current fiscal year by nearly 54 percent to Tk 60,000 crore, while making it mandatory for commercial banks to channel at least 4 percent of their total loans into the agricultural sector, up from the previous requirement of 2.5 percent. In the preceding fiscal year, the agricultural credit target stood at Tk 39,000 crore.
